The trek unfolds through stunning landscapes, high ridges, and lush meadows. However, it is not suited for beginners due to its moderate to difficult terrain. The trail passes through beautiful valleys before crossing a ridge that separates Rupin and Supin. As you ascend, the terrain becomes rocky and barren, surrounded by boulders.

Day 1: Pickup from Dehradun Railway Station and Drive to Khanyasni Camp

Total Distance: 235 km (9/10 Hours Journey)

Altitude: Khanyasni Camp – 1878 Meters
Night Stay: Campsite on Twin Sharing Basis

Transport will be arranged from Dehradun Railway Station in the morning, departing between 6:00 am and 7:00 am. Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, is one of the most beautiful places in India. The main attraction, Rajpur Road, offers a glimpse of the city’s charm. After an hour, reach Mussoorie, also known as the “Queen of Hills,” a popular tourist destination.

After half an hour, stop at Kempty Falls for breakfast and enjoy the scenic beauty. The break will last about an hour. Moving ahead, the peaks become visible, and the route follows the holy Yamuna River. A short 20-minute break can be taken here.

The journey continues through small markets like Nainbagh, Damta, and Naugaon. Lunch break will be around 1:30 pm at Purola. From there, proceed to Sankri via Jarmola, where the back of Kedarkantha Peak is visible. Drive through the picturesque zigzag road amidst pine forests.

Upon reaching Mori, an hour later, you will cross the check post at Naitwar and finally arrive at Khanyasni Camp. Enjoy tea and snacks before settling in for the night.


Day 2: Trek from Khanyasni Camp to Sarutal Camp

Total Distance: 5 km (3/4 Hours Journey)
Mode of Journey: On Foot
Altitude: Sarutal Camp – 2000 Meters
Night Stay: Campsite on Twin Sharing Basis

After breakfast, begin the trek along the right side of the Rupin River (1500 m) towards Pujali and Bitri villages. The area is known for apple orchards and agricultural fields. Bitri, at an altitude of 2000 meters, showcases traditional village life, with wheat and red rice cultivation.

The trail continues through dense pine forests, offering views of the Himachal mountains and Changsheel Valley from the top of Bitri village. Camps will be set up a kilometer ahead in a wide meadow called Sarutal. After dinner, rest for the night.


Day 3: Trek from Sarutal Camp to Badang Camp

Trek Distance: 8 km (5/6 Hours Journey)
Mode of Journey: On Foot
Altitude: Badang Camp – 2600 Meters
Night Stay: Campsite on Twin Sharing Basis

Have breakfast at the camp and start trekking towards Badang Camp. A high ridge separates the Rupin and Supin valleys, offering panoramic mountain views.

To the north, see the peaks of Himachal, including the four-peaked Swargarohini. The trail passes through dense forests and streams, providing an opportunity for breaks. Badang is a lush green meadow, an ideal camping spot for the night.


Day 4: Trek from Badang Camp via Vijay Top (3800 Meters) to Dhaldhar Camp

After breakfast, start the trek to Dhaldhar Camp via Vijay Top (3700 m). The climb is steep but offers breathtaking views of Vishkhopri, Obra Valley, and Khimloga Pass.

The trail consists of streams, meadows, and mist-covered peaks. Upon reaching Vijay Top, enjoy a stunning panoramic view before descending to Dhaldhar Camp. This ridge campsite is an open meadow and a perfect resting spot for the night.


Day 5: Trek from Dhaldhar Camp to Devbasa Camp

Trek Distance: 6 km (2/3 Hours Journey)

Altitude: Devbasa Camp – 3650 Meters
Night Stay: Campsite on Twin Sharing Basis

Wake up early to witness the sunrise casting an orange glow on the peaks. After breakfast, begin trekking towards Devbasa. Walk across mountain ridges and meadows, enjoying stunning views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Nalgan.

The trail consists of gradual ascents and rocky terrain. Devbasa is a high-altitude, windy campsite surrounded by rocky mountains. Set up tents and rest, as the next day’s trek will be challenging.


Day 6: Trek from Devbasa Camp to Baraadsar Lake and Return

Night Stay: Campsite on Twin Sharing Basis

This is the longest trek of the journey, covering rugged trails. Two routes are available: a steep direct climb over a pass or a longer scenic route circling the mountain.

The path is moderate, featuring rocky ridges. Carry sufficient warm clothing as the weather is extremely cold. The ridge provides a view of the sacred Baraadsar Lake, known for its wish-fulfilling significance. Spend some time at the lake before returning to Devbasa Camp.


Day 7: Trek from Devbasa Camp via Lower Sural to Kasla, Drive to Sankri

Trek Distance: 44 km (8/9 Hours Journey)
Mode of Journey: On Foot – 15 km, By Taxi – 29 km
Altitude: Sankri – 1920 Meters
Night Stay: Hotel on Twin Sharing Basis

After breakfast, descend via Lower Sural through meadows and pine forests. The trail continues through Rajma and wheat fields before reaching Rahla Village. Observe villagers working in fields and grazing livestock.

Take a lunch break before heading towards Kasla Village. The descent is easy, with many flowing streams along the way. From Kasla, a vehicle will take you to Sankri, a beautiful base camp for multiple treks. Enjoy the evening in Sankri with dinner and an overnight hotel stay.


Day 8: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun

Distance: 210 km (8/9 Hours Journey)
Mode of Journey: By Taxi

After breakfast, depart for Dehradun. Certificates will be distributed, and a group photo session will be held before bidding farewell. Arrive in Dehradun in the evening, marking the end of an unforgettable trekking adventure.

Important Note:
Many trekkers make the mistake of carrying unnecessary items, making their backpack heavy. Carry only the necessary items based on the season—fewer layers in summer and enough warm layers in winter.
