  • Day 3: Trek from Sarutal Camp to Badang Camp (8 km, 5-6 hours, 2,600 meters)

  • Day 4: Trek from Badang Camp via Vijay Top (3,800 meters) and back to camp (10 km, 6-7 hours)

  • Day 5: Trek from Badang Camp to Bhitri Village (7 km, 4-5 hours), then drive to Sankri (33 km), overnight stay at a hotel

  • Day 6: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun (210 km)

Day 1: Dehradun to Khanyasni Camp

  • Total Distance: 235 km (9-10 hours)
  • Mode of Journey: By taxi
  • Altitude: 1878 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite (twin-sharing basis)

The journey begins from Dehradun Railway Station, departing between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, is a scenic city with attractions like Rajpur Road. An hour into the journey, you’ll reach Mussoorie, known as the “Queen of Hills,” a popular tourist destination.

After half an hour, stop at Kempty Falls for breakfast and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The journey then continues past the holy Yamuna River, offering an opportunity for a short break of 20 minutes.

Passing through small markets like Nainbagh, Damta, and Naugaon, you’ll reach Purola around 1:30 PM for lunch. The route continues via Jarmola, where the back of Kedarkantha peak is visible. The drive winds through dense pine forests before reaching Mori and, an hour later, the Naitwar check post. Finally, upon reaching Khanyasni Camp, relax with tea and snacks before settling in for the night.


Day 2: Khanyasni Camp to Sarutal Camp

  • Altitude: 2000 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite (twin-sharing basis)

After breakfast, the trek begins along the right side of the Rupin River, passing through Pujali and Bitri villages. Bitri, at 2000 meters, is known for its apple orchards and traditional agricultural practices, including red rice cultivation.

The trail leads through dense pine forests, offering stunning views of the Himachal Mountains and the Changsheel Valley. The campsite is set up at a vast meadow called Sarutal, where trekkers can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.


Day 3: Sarutal Camp to Badang Camp

  • Trek Distance: 8 km (5-6 hours)
  • Mode of Journey: On foot
  • Altitude: 2600 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite (twin-sharing basis)

After breakfast, the trek continues towards Badang Camp. A high ridge separates the Rupin and Supin valleys, providing breathtaking panoramic views. To the north, the Himachal peaks stand tall, along with the magnificent Swargarohini, a mountain with four peaks.

The trail winds through dense forests, gradually gaining altitude. Along the way, glimpses of the Rupin and Supin Rivers appear, with small streams providing refreshing breaks. Upon reaching Badang, a lush green meadow, the campsite is set up for the night.


Day 4: Badang Camp to Vijay Top (3800 meters) and Back

  • Altitude: Vijay Top – 3800 meters
  • Night Stay: Campsite (twin-sharing basis)

Today’s trek involves a steady ascent to Vijay Top. During winter, the trail is covered in snow, making the climb challenging yet exhilarating. The trek passes through dense forests, offering a chance to spot wildlife tracks.

As the summit nears, the first glimpse of the peak fuels excitement. The final ascent is steep, but the reward is a spectacular 360-degree view of Kedarkantha (3800 m), Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, Swargarohini (I, II, III), Baraadsar Range, Phulara Ridge, and the Rupin and Supin Valleys.

After enjoying the breathtaking views, the descent leads back to Badang Camp for another night under the stars.


Day 5: Badang Camp to Bhitri Village (8 km), Drive to Sankri (33 km)

  • Altitude: Sankri – 1920 meters
  • Night Stay: Hotel (twin-sharing basis)

Wake up early to witness a mesmerizing sunrise. Enjoy a hot cup of tea while taking in the serene surroundings before starting the descent towards Bhitri village.

The trail passes through forested sections and open meadows, offering beautiful views along the way. Upon reaching Bhitri village, a vehicle awaits to drive towards Sankri. After reaching Sankri, explore the local market and nearby attractions before enjoying a delicious dinner and resting at the hotel.


Day 6: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun

  • Total Distance: 210 km (8-9 hours)
  • Mode of Journey: By taxi

Enjoy the final breakfast of the trek before beginning the return journey to Dehradun. Certificates are distributed, and after capturing some memorable moments with fellow trekkers, it’s time to bid farewell.

Important Note:
Many trekkers make the mistake of carrying unnecessary items, making their backpack heavy. Carry only the necessary items based on the season—fewer layers in summer and enough warm layers in winter.
